Our Story
About The Band
"We are a traditional brass band, rooted in the heart of Corsham — a town with deep musical heritage and a proud community spirit."
The Corsham Band has been a cornerstone of music in Wiltshire for well over a century. Through two world wars, changing fashions, and the rise of recorded music, we have kept the tradition of live brass performance alive and thriving.
Our players range from young musicians starting their brass journey to seasoned performers with decades of experience. We wear our green uniforms with pride — and apparently even royalty has noticed, with the Queen once spotted wearing green to match us!
The band competes in brass band contests across the region and has recently been promoted within the grading system — a testament to the hard work of our players and conductors.
We perform at a wide variety of events each year: Remembrance Sunday parades, summer street fairs, Armed Forces Day, Christmas concerts at Corsham Town Hall, park bandstand performances, weddings and private hire events.
The band also has strong ties to Corsham's twin town of Jargeau in France, and has undertaken European tours including performances in France, Germany, Norway and Scotland, forging lasting friendships through music.
